St. Bede's Garden

  MEMORIAL WOOD.

Work has commenced with the Memorial Wood, it was a great deal of hard work, collaboration and so much fun was had by everyone on the day.

We have made a path with chippings donated by Honister Slate Mine, willow screens have made the wood private from our neighbours, seats have been erected which were purchased by the PTA. A digger was used to create the path and dig the foundations for a wall which has all been kindly donated by Travis Perkins.

If you don't believe what happened in a day take a look at the evidence!!

Gardening Club.

So far this year we have been busy harvesting  and tasting our crops, as well as preparing our garden for crops this Spring.

We've not just been hard at work.......no there has been some fun along the way!!! Take a look at our Snail Races as well as our Apple Tasting and Dunking.

GET YOUR GROWN UPS GARDENING.

In conjunction with the RHS we've just had our own event within the garden, to encourage our grown ups to come outside into our school garden.

We made raised beds, created compost heaps within each bed, fixed fences with a general tidy up as well as painting our garden fences.

Much fun was had by all......take a peek!!

St. Bede's R. C. Primary School would like to extend a special thank you for all the donations and generosity to the following companies:-

MEMORIAL WOOD.

On Remembrance Day as a school we held our 2 minutes silence together in our Memorial Wood.

Each class came out at some point within the day and planted their own class tree.

Along with everyone in the school we had a special visitor who planted their own tree too, the wonderful Mayor and Lady Mayor of Carlisle.

Have a look at how we commemorated

November 11th.
