“I got drawn into the film by the characters and the pure pressure trying to find the  younger sister “

This film was great but sometimes a bit weird and crazy. It used the classic anime style which means somethings weren't as good as they would be now. However I got drawn into the film by the characters and the pure pressure trying to find the younger sister made it interesting.

 Ponyo

“it was a comedy masterpiece at times…”

Ponyo is one of the best animes I've seen. It is really funny at times but sometimes it just focuses on good story telling. I liked the film because I like animes and it was a comedy masterpiece at times but that gets overshadowed by the story.

I watched this film today, and it was better than my friends made it out to be.

I watched this film today, and it was better than my friends made it out to be.It is about a girl who meets an organisation of tiny people who live in the forest. These tiny people always avoid getting into contact with 'stompers'-or people-as they could destroy their civilisation with one, gigantic, STOMP. It had a great storyline, modern Disney animation and of course, fast-paced action; gripping fight scenes and victorious good guys.It lost a star because there were a lot ofcliches in it.

Fantastic Mr Fox

This was a good film but not the best film ever.

This was a film (for me) that I could get into some of the parts but others I struggled. My favourite part was the first time Mrs Fox told Mr Fox that she was pregnant. That was my favourite part because Mr Fox just froze, it was quite funny. I lost a star because I didn't like the picture. It was a bit old (well my opinion, you might think different). What I didn't like was the way it looked. If you like all Disney picture all bright and colourful, your opinion is the same as mine. Thanks for reading.

Film Club Information

Film Club runs all year round and we meet every Thursday after school in Year two. The film starts at 15:30 and finishes at 17.00. Film Club is free for Years 4, 5 & 6 to come to (Please note: the new Year 4s are invited to join film club after Christmas).

One of the aims of Film club is for the children to write reviews based on the films they have watched.  The children will be provided with a guide to help support them in doing this. Each child will be given a unique login and details of the website they need to write their reviews. If you experience any technical difficulties see Mr Whitaker or Miss Smith.  Each week there will be a reviewer of the week who will win a small treat and at the end of the year we will present the Reviewer of the Year with a prize and certificate in assembly.

FILMCLUB (now known as INTOFILM) is an education charity helping transform the lives of young people through film.

We help schools set up clubs that provide young people with the chance to watch, discuss and review a diverse range of films – feeding their imagination and nurturing their social and intellectual development.

The charity (no. 1136558) is championed by headteachers and key figures in education, and has grown from a 25-school pilot in 2007 to reaching 220,000 children each week, in over 7,000 clubs.

The BFI Lottery funds FILMCLUB in England, the Welsh Government funds FILMCLUB in Wales, and the Department of Culture, Arts and Leisure funds FILMCLUB in Northern Ireland.

Film is a uniquely powerful medium, which can introduce young people to a wider world while promoting better learning, improved social and communication skills and raising aspirations.
